All foreigners who intend to work in Singapore must have a valid pass (commonly known as a work visa) before they start work.

  • Have a job offer in Singapore.
  • Work in a managerial, executive or specialised job.
  • Earn a fixed monthly salary of at least $4,500 (more experienced candidates need higher salaries).

Mid-Skilled Foreign Employees

S Pass

The criteria are:
  • A Fixed monthly salary of at least $2,500. The salary should reflect work experience.
  • A degree or diploma as well as technical certificates, such as courses for qualified technicians or specialists. The certification should include at least 1 year of full-time study.
  • Years of relevant work experience.
  • Open to all nationalities.

Unskilled & Semi-Skilled WorkersWork Permit

Foreign workers from approved source countries working in the construction, manufacturing, marine shipyard, process or services sector.

The duration of a Work Permit is generally 2 years, subject to the validity of the worker’s passport, the security bond and the worker’s employment period, whichever is shorter.

The worker is only allowed to work for the employer and in the specified occupation. There is no minimum salary or education qualification required.

The WSG will then inform us automatically. You do not need to apply to MOM for conversion to higher skilled worker levy.

Metalworking Industry
  • Metalworking Safety Orientation Course (MSOC) or
  • Apply Workplace Safety and Health in Metal Work
Construction
Marine Shipyard
  • Malaysia
  • People’s Republic of China (PRC)
  • Non-traditional sources (NTS):

*Note:

  • The minimum age for all non-domestic foreign workers is 18 years old.
  • Malaysians must be below 58 years old.
  • Non-Malaysians must be below 50 years old.
